Can I send books or subscriptions to a participant?

Unfortunately the majority prisons and facilities do not allow books or mailings to be sent to an incarcerated person unless it is sent directly from the publisher or an approved retailer (i.e. Amazon or Barnes and Noble).

As such, it's not possible to send used books or materials to participants. As a small non-profit, we unfortunately don't have the budget to be able to afford to purchase books at this time; but sometimes try to work with other charities to get books to our participants.

We can print papers as part of the mailings that we sent to participants. So you could include chapters from a book, math papers, or extracts from the internet as part of your letters, which we could print and mail for you.
Some participants might have books that they / their friends / family have purchased for them; or often they may be interested about what books are suitable for them. The people in the program vary from having existing self studies they're engaged in, to wanting guidance as to where to start.
